Photos from The Jicks’ Saturday (6th Jan) show at the El Rey Theater in Los Angeles are now up at the gallery.
Last night, The Jicks’ kicked off their month-long tour performing at Bimbo’s 365 Club in San Francsico.
A few images from the show have been added to the Jicks’ very own category in the gallery - just be sure that you’re registered and logged in before trying to view them.
Apologies for the lack of recent updates, a few technical issues have kept me busy, but to make up for lost time I’ve updated the gallery with hundreds of images, including photoshoots, live photos & magazine scans as well as replacing many low-quality images with super-fantastic hi-res.
As usual, be sure to register (registrations are now open) and/or log in to view all the new additions on the ‘last uploads’ page(s).
Stephen & his Jicks’ are set to perform at the 2007 PLUG Independent Music Awards on February 10th at the Irving Plaza, NY.
The Malk will also be receiving the PLUG Impact Award for his influence on independent music through his work in Pavement, The Silver Jews & The Jicks’.
Last year, S-K received five nominations and picked up PLUG’s ‘Punk Album of the Year‘ for The Woods.
Recognise. The Kinney made it to no. 16 on USA Today’s Pop Cultures Top 100 People of the Year, compiled by columnist Whitney Matheson.

I’m still hoping the punk band’s “indefinite hiatus” isn’t permanent, but at least I got to see them before they said goodbye. They left us with great music, enviable stage moves and no cheesy and prolonged farewell tour, which is pretty much all any fan can ask for. (In fact, a handful of semi-retired divas could learn a thing or two from these women.)
Some real updates will be following shortly, but in the mean time you can view the full top 100 list here.
The gallery’s ‘Magazine Scans’ archive has been updated with hi-res scans from two issues of Rockpile from 2002 & 2005.
